Don’t Be A Statistic; Avoid Vehicle Crime

Uncategorized

It’s safest to keep your windows rolled up. If you need some air it’s ok to roll down your window halfway. However, if you have to pass through a rough neighborhood, keep your windows rolled up at all times.

Don’t ever wait until you are in front of your car in order to dig for your keys. Find your keys ahead of time and always carry pepper spray with you.

It’s an unfortunate fact of life; however car related theft and vandalism happen every day. Here are a few ways to keep yourself and your vehicle safe from harm.

If you don’t want to garner the attraction of thieves it’s best to drive a car that blends into the crowd like a Honda or a Toyota. Pick something that is affordable and efficient without being too flashy or extravagant. Luxury cars are nice to look at but fact of the matter is that they are prone to theft. In addition, criminals are more likely to target owners driving expensive vehicles for robberies and burglary. Ford cars also fit the bill quite nicely; check out Ford Dallas for some great deals.

Some people may find this a bit paranoid. However, I feel that putting a bunch of stickers on your car only serves to make it stand out from the crowd which makes you more recognizable. For example, if you cut someone off and if they have road rage, it will be easier for them to track you down and retaliate. In my opinion, it’s safest to drive a car that is of a common model and make and sports a color that isn’t too unusual.

Always park your car in a public parking lot or a street that receives plenty of foot traffic. Be sure to lock your doors each and every time and don’t leave any valuables in sight.

Hopefully these tips will help to keep you safe for 2012!
